I have been painting colour sketches again of late, principally because I haven’t had time to get down to painting for any length of time. These are all about 18 x 24. They are in acrylics which is not my usual medium, I still prefer painting in oils, despite the smell of turps :
The first one I started in acrylics, finished in oil, the last 3 are in oill:
We try to get out and do some sightseeing occasionally, here are a few photos from some of this year’s Sunday outings:
A wintry visit to Cahors and a view of its wonderful 14 century bridge:
On the bridge, steps worn down by thousands of traipsing feet.
Château Duras basking in the winter sun:
Lastly a view of our local canal reflecting the rich royal blue sky:
I wish I could say the weather was like this this week, but no, the March rains are with us at the moment. Yesterday, however, in between showers I managed to take this early evening shot of the house before the heavens opened once again!
Love the delicate colouring and lightness of touch you’ve got in these paintings Liz, and the photos are lovely, you do live in a beautiful place!
Thanks Phil, we certainly do!
Very nice, Liz, the sketches and the photography. I love your blog. xxxx Nancy
Thanks Nancy, good to hear from you!
